Its been a week of recovery for me, lots of time on the couch after my next-to-the-last chemo, but I still have plenty to be thankful for.
1. Walks along the American River. I'm kind of afraid to walk alone because I'm so dizzy
after chemo, but Bob has been making the time to go with me for 2 short walks a day.2. Watermelon. I just can't seem to get enough of it this year. I also can't get over that all the watermelons here are seedless, I used to the ones full of seeds in Paraguay.
3. Library. Keeps me supplied with all the books I can read. . . . and more!
4. Netflix. We got a free 3 month trial and have been enjoying lots of movies and TV series. We especially like to watch Monk. Helps
distract me during the sick times.
5. A tree outside my bedroom. For some reason I find the shadows and little bits of light that it lets through the window soothing. And it helps keep the room cool!

Brenda, at last!!!! Am finally I'm able to comment after 3 wks of not being able to!
Actually now that I think of it, there are many who won't be happy about that....
:)
Oh, watermelon....I also had the same longings this year....drank so much of it, juiced. Alas, seeds here like the ones in Paraguay, no doubt....
I´ve never had seedless watermelons before. Must be so good to not worry about swallowing the seeds. Do they taste the same? Just as sweet as ours? :)
I´m glad Bob is making time to walk with you. And hopefully this week you will feel better and better!
It's wonderful that you have riverside walks accompanied by a thoughtful and loving husband. I've never had seedless watermelon before. In my home country watermelon seeds are munched while playing board games or watching TV :-) Have a great weekend.
That is so sweet he's accompanied you on walks.
I'm amazed with the seedless watermelons as well :)
I'm still catching up here, but keeping you in my thoughts. Hope this time of recovery goes smoothly.
Seedless watermelons are fantastic. Glad you've discovered them. All joy with no work.
And the library should always be on my five fave list--I absolutely love libraries.
Glad you've been able to get in two walks a day! Blessings to you!
I hope you're doing well today!
Finding simple pleasures can definitely do wonders for the heart and mind when the body doesn't cooperate.
Sounds like you are doing your best to stay in high spirits! Hang in there :D
I love your tree! Monk is one of our favorites.
Congrats on your second-to-the-last chemo! And I'm glad you're able to get in more walks as you'd been advised.
Hi Brenda,
I hope you are feeling okay. I'm so proud of you for getting to your second to last chemo - that is awesome. And how wonderful that you can have walks with your husband.
I found it intesting too that your watermelons do not have seeds.
I'm still thinking and praying for you.
Have a good weekend.
I just bought my first seedless watermelon last week. It was awesome! I'm getting another today if the grocery still has them ...
Glad your hubby can go for walks with you. It's so nice to be outdoors together, isn't it?
I love your tree picture!
I'm so glad that you are almost finished with chemo. You have done so well!
Hello Brenda, Glad to hear you are nearing the end of your chemo treatments. Hoping that all goes well for you. We like to watch Monk, too. What a character they dreamed up...
I like Monk, too. Somehow we've never watched it regularly, but I enjoy it when I see it. Maybe we should catch up on it this summer when there is so little else on TV.
I'm not a watermelon fan, but that just leaves more for you. :-)
I love how you phrased #5.
You have a great list going here! I'm glad that you are almost done with chemo!
Monk? Do I need to add yet another series to my queue? Haven't heard of Monk. We watched ALL of the Foyle's War series via Netflix.
It's so good of Bob to walk with you. Helps you both to get the exercise.
Great FFF! Hang in there!
I'm sorry I'm so late commenting on your fave five post! I don't know how I missed it on the Mr. Linky but I'm glad I went back and checked.
I love looking through tree branches. I too, find it very relaxing.
We are really enjoying watermelon around here too. And we rarely find seeded ones anymore. Good for eating but sorta miss the kid thing of having watermelon seed spitting contests. ;v)
